Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 August 2026
1. Who We Are
Tommy Alexander Motors ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. We are based in Holywood, Belfast, Northern Ireland. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what rights you have under UK GDPR.
2. What We Collect
We only collect personal data that you choose to give us directly, when you fill in an enquiry or reservation form on a vehicle listing. This is limited to your name, email address, phone number, and the content of your message.
We do not use cookies, analytics, or tracking technology to monitor visitors browsing the public website. The only cookie set by this site is an essential session cookie used solely to keep our own staff logged into the admin back-office — it is not set for, or accessible to, visitors browsing vehicle listings.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the details you submit solely to respond to your enquiry about a vehicle — for example, to confirm availability, arrange a viewing, or discuss a reservation. We do not use your data for marketing, and we do not sell or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries you have voluntarily made, and, where a sale proceeds, the steps necessary to enter into a contract with you.
4. Where Your Data Is Stored
Enquiry details are not stored in a database on our website. When you submit a form, your details are sent as an email to our dealership inbox and to you as a confirmation, using Resend, a transactional email service that acts as our data processor for this purpose. Your details then exist only within our email inbox (for as long as needed to handle your enquiry) and within Resend’s own short-term delivery logs, in line with Resend’s privacy policy.
If you contact us via WhatsApp, that conversation is handled directly within WhatsApp and is subject to WhatsApp’s (Meta’s) own privacy policy, not this one.
5. How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep enquiry emails for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with your enquiry and any resulting sale, and to meet any legal or accounting obligations that follow from a completed purchase, after which they are deleted.
6. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- ask us what personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- ask us to delete your data, where there is no legal reason for us to keep it;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your data; and
- lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe your data has been mishandled.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below and we will respond within one month.
7. Children
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version published on this website at the time you contact us will apply.
